KING COUNTY REAL ESTATE HELP ("Organization," "we," "us," or "our") is a Washington State 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit our website, submit forms, or interact with our resources and referral programs (the "Site").
By using the Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1) Who We Are & What We Do
We provide informational resources (guides, checklists, decision tools) and may maintain a referral-only directory of participating local professionals who independently choose to offer discounted or pro bono services to eligible households. We do not provide legal, financial, tax, medical, or real-estate advice.

If you disclose health-related information (e.g., medical hardship context), we treat it as consumer health data and handle it consistent with Washington's My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373), including honoring access/deletion requests where applicable. We do not geofence around health-care facilities.

We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.We do not transfer personal information to unrelated third parties.

We use only what's necessary for basic functionality and security (e.g., session/security cookies, anti-abuse tools, server logs). If we later add analytics, we will update this Policy and, where required, offer controls.
6) Email, SMS & CAN-SPAM

Access/Correction/Deletion: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us (see Section 12).

Washington My Health My Data (MHMD) rights: If you provided consumer health data, you may request access, deletion, and withdrawal of consent as defined in RCW 19.373; we will authenticate your request and respond within the required timeline.

Note: Depending on your state, you may have additional rights. We voluntarily extend reasonable access/deletion options where feasible and legally permissible.
8) Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by law. Typical retention:

We may retain minimal records to comply with legal, accounting, or security obligations.
9) Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10) Data Breach Notifications (Washington)
If a data breach involving certain personal information occurs, we will provide notices in accordance with Washington's data-breach laws (RCW 19.255 for businesses; RCW 42.56.590 for public agencies), as applicable.
11) Third-Party Links & Resources
The Site may link to third-party websites, tools, and datasets. We do not control or endorse third-party content and are not responsible for their privacy or security practices. Your use of third-party sites is governed by their policies.
12) How to Exercise Your Privacy Requests
Contact us using the information below. For requests involving consumer health data (if any), please specify the request type (access, deletion, withdrawal of consent) and provide enough information for us to verify your identity and locate the data. We will respond consistent with applicable law (including MHMD Act procedures).

13) International Visitors
We are a U.S. nonprofit operating in Washington State. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" will reflect the latest version. Your continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
